Portway Tavern
Since 1920 - Open 7 Days A Week
Lunch & Dinner
422 W. Marine Dr, Astoria 325-2651
"Astoria Finest Burger" By The Daily Astorian Newspaper
Great Beer Batter Halibut Fish & Chips, Charbroil Steaks, Hamburgers, Clam Chowder, The Portway, built in 1923 is the oldest watering hole in the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies. The Portway seems to still hold the spirit of Portway Paul, or at least our bartenders believe so. Stop by and see the history: The building looks much like it did in 1923. It has a Shanghaied door. Ask where the "fightin pit" is. The upstairs has recently been remodeled but it still has a fancy staircase to a long hall with bedrooms on the right, bathrooms on the left. Great Fish and Chips; best burgers in town; great steaks. Bass, Guiness and Micros on tap, single malts available. 18 wines by the glass.
